The GOLD Entrepreneur Series

The Pace University Small Business Development Center has direct access to the talented minds of students and alumni associated with Pace University’s six schools. To further this mutually beneficial relationship, the Pace SBDC supports the Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) Entrepreneur Series, a live Q&A series presented by Pace Alumni Services to highlight recent Pace graduates who have launched their own successful small businesses. See below for a recap and recording of two discussions led by Pace SBDC Regional Director Andrew Flamm, where he and the entrepreneurs explore topics related to their business' journey and the challenges they've faced.

Gina Holzer

On October 28th, Andrew Flamm moderated a discussion with Pace University alumna Gina Holzer, founder and CEO oWholy Dose. Guided by questions from Mr. Flamm, Ms. Holzer lifted the veil as to how she built Wholy Dose from the ground up and continues to grow the company. Topics discussed included entrepreneurship, networking, marketing, overcoming challenges, understanding customers & the marketplace, and how the COVID-19 pandemic changed almost every aspect of the Ms. Holzer’s company. The conversation was followed by a Q&A from real-time event attendees.

Topaz Smith

On November 17th, Andrew Flamm moderated a discussion with Pace University alumna Topaz Smith, founder and CEO of EN-NOBLE. Ms. Smith emphasized how important diversity and understanding cultures are to her as a person and how that sentiment translated to her unique, culturally-immersive tourism company. The discussion included topics such as networking, marketing, internships, and the challenge of accomplishing these tasks during the COVID-19 pandemic. The conversation was followed by a Q&A from real-time event attendees.
