Happy Earth Day! As we celebrate this special day, we'd like to take a moment to highlight some of the incredible sustainable businesses we've had the pleasure of working with. Read their inspiring stories to find out how they are helping make the world cleaner and greener one step at a time.


  1. FABSCRAP FABSCRAP is a New York City 501(c)3 organization that effectively re-purposes textile waste from the fashion industry. Founded by Jessica Schreiber, a self-described “trash nerd” who previously managed the New York City Department of Sanitation’s e-waste and clothing recycling contracts, FABSCRAP charges a modest service charge to cover operational costs associated with picking up the textile waste and redistributing for reuse.

  2. EARTH ANGEL Earth Angel is a sustainability consulting business focused on serving the entertainment industry, helping businesses both increase efficiency and have a positive impact on local communities. Founded by Emellie O’Brien in 2013, Earth Angel works with production companies to reduce their carbon footprint by implementing waste reduction efforts and procuring sustainable products, helping to divert tons of waste from landfills, or “Make movies without making a mess.”

  3. HARLEM BAKING CO. Harlem Baking Company (HBC), founded by Charles Devigne, a military veteran, is a dessert brand that produces confections served in jars such as cheesecake in a variety of flavors, chocolate mousse, tiramisu, key lime pie and more. The company is located in the East Harlem community where Charles also has a successful restaurant. The baking company uses reusable glass jars. Customers can return a bunch for a free dessert. It’s a win-win.

  4. NEXT BIG THING ​Next Big Thing is a New York City-based consulting firm that works with companies to create real impact in their local communities through innovative corporate social responsibility initiatives and employee engagement opportunities. Founded in 2021 by Karen Heredia and Michael Braithwaite, the company helps businesses align their bottom line with social good and ensure their employees feel their work is meaningful, personal, and impactful.
