5 Social Media Strategies for the Fall

As the fall season is now upon us, it's time to focus on finishing 2017 with strong revenues and profits. Here are some social media strategies that can help you exceed your sales projections for 2017.

1. Livestream updates

If video content is king, then live-streaming video must be the ruler of them all. There is no better way to engage your followers this holiday season than to go live on Facebook and Instagram to announce major updates, demonstrate new products or services, educate the audience, or host a weekly Q&A to engage with your customers. More people are inclined to like and comment when they see live footage. It can also lead to more conversions to whatever call-to-action you're going to emphasize.

2. Get endorsements

In order to gain exposure quickly, identify the influencers in your particular industry. First, take a look at the type of content they are putting across their own social media channels and determine how your product/service would be of value for them to recommend. This will allow you to prepare a pitch on how you can collaborate with this influencer to help you develop a larger following. Don't forget to demonstrate a value-add or incentive for them. For example, if you have a product, send them a free sample to encourage them to review/recommend on their social media platforms.

3. Increase subscribers

Email marketing is one of the most effective social media marketing platforms to develop long-term relationships with existing and potential customers. While prospective customers may not have a Facebook or Twitter account, just about everyone has an email address. One way to increase email subscribers is to utilize your social media channels to give potential customers a discount on their first order/service if they subscribe. You can also create call-to-actions on your website and/or develop a pop-up to encourage visitors to subscribe.

4. Holiday-themed content

The holiday season is the perfect time to get creative and develop holiday-themed content to promote your business. Leverage the biggest holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas by establishing themed sales, discount codes, giveaways, competitions, etc. This will create engagement with your audience, increasing the likelihood of converting them into customers. Create urgency by making these deals time-sensitive. Another idea is to incorporate a holiday into the product/service itself. Create a holiday gift card or a Christmas product. Think pumpkin-flavored coffees.

5. Partner with a cause

'Tis the season to give and there's no better recipient than a charitable cause relevant to you or your business model. Either incorporate the charity into one of your products or services or volunteer at a charity with your entire staff. Take pictures and videos to post on your social media so people are aware of how your company is doing its part by getting involved in the community. You can also donate a percentage of proceeds to the charity and make sure you make bold note of it on your home and shop webpages.
