BushBox NYC

When Roderick Soto, owner of BushBox NYC, LLC, realized his business had outgrown its original space, he knew that expanding to a larger location was essential to support future growth. Seeking financing to make this move a reality, Roderick connected with a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), who referred him to Greg Callender at the Pace SBDC for guidance.
Greg worked with Roderick and Roderick's client-turned-Operations Manager Leela Rao on preparing a business narrative and financial projections that could speak to the business opportunity that lie ahead of them, and convince a potential lender that BushBox was well prepared to make the most of that very same opportunity.
After several weeks and several revisions, Greg helped the client complete the loan package and when that CDFI did not prove interested in proceeding, introduced BushBox to Desi Smithen of M&T Bank, who praised them for the quality of their presentation. M&T approved BushBox NYC for both a term loan and a line-of-credit, totaling six-figures, in order to support their Bushwick, Brooklyn retail space expansion.
BushBox NYC celebrated this exciting new chapter with a Grand Opening on July 19th, officially launching their expanded location and setting the stage for continued success.

“Greg was a strong partner throughout this entire process, and we couldn't have closed our first SBA loan without his consistent guidance, timely feedback, and honest support. It truly felt like we had someone in our corner.” Roderick Soto & Leela Rao
