Recap of Small Business Workshop with Congressman Dan Goldman
On Thursday, October 17, 2024, the Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) co-hosted an engaging and resourceful Small Business Workshop with Congressman Dan Goldman at the Brooklyn Public Library's brand new branch Sunset Park branch. This event brought together local small business owners, community leaders, and representatives from several key organizations dedicated to supporting small business growth in the Brooklyn area.
The workshop kicked off with a review of Pace SBDC’s free services for small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs in both English and Spanish, and provided an opportunity for Q&A. Councilmember Alexa Aviles and a staff member for Congressman Dan Goldman each also presented regarding their offices’ support for local small businesses.
Following the workshop, attendees were invited to join a Resource Fair for Small Businesses. Here, local businesses had the opportunity to network with and gain insights from a variety of key organizations. In addition to the Pace SBDC and Congressman Goldman’s office, notable participants included the office of NYS Senator Andrew Gounardes the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corporation (SBIDC), and the Sunset Park Business Improvement District (BID), all of whom play a crucial role in the local business ecosystem.
We’re grateful to Congressman Goldman for partnering with us and to all the organizations and small business owners who joined us to make this event a success. And check out the article from the Brooklyn Eagle for a recap.
