Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) hosted a webinar that introduced small business owners and entrepreneurs to issues related to contracts and risk management, including the importance and significance of:


• Contracts and mutual assent

• Risks and responsibilities of the contractual relationship

• Assessing business risk for working with Letter Agreements, Memoranda of Understanding, Letters of Intent, and other less formal contract documents

• Understanding key contractual elements and clauses to mitigate risk and spot issues on which to seek legal assistance

• Working effectively with counsel.

Non-Disclosure Agreements: When Should You Require an NDA, When Should You Sign an NDA

Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) hosted a webinar with Dr. Jessica A. Magaldi, where she informed small business owners and entrepreneurs on problems related to contracts and risk management. 


Attendees were able to learn about the importance and significance of elements including:


• Risks that an NDA can help mitigate (and risks that an NDA won’t mitigate)

• Understanding key contractual provisions of an NDA;

• How to protect your small business with an NDA

• How to protect yourself as an individual who is asked to sign an NDA.

Pace SBDC Small Business Website Workday

September 14, 11am - 1pm EST

The Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) was honored to host a no-cost, in-person two-hour “website workday” at the NYPL's Thomas Yoseloff Business Center.


This event gave small business owner clients an opportunity to build or improve their site with business advisors available to answer questions and provide 1:1 assistance.  This workshop served clients ranging from those who had existing small business websites and those who wanted to launch one.

Online Accounting Clinic for NYS Small Businesses

The Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) team was pleased to launch a CPA Accounting Clinic for small businesses in New York State. By working with participating CPA volunteers from the New York State Society of CPAs free virtual sessions were held for clients. These clients were able to have one-to-one individual Zoom breakout rooms to review specific accounting questions related to their small business. 


The questions varied, including areas such as tax filing responsibilities and tax minimization strategies, and complement the range of no cost financial and operational counseling services SBDC advisors offer.

El Centro de Soluciones para Negocios de NYC presenta este taller para dar a conocer a la comunidad Hispana los recursos y herramientas que El Estado y la Ciudad de Nueva York ofrecen sin costo a los Pequeños Negocios.

Small Business Lending Panel and Networking Session (In-Person!)

Several small buisness owners meet small business lenders at this free forum hosted by the Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the US Small Business Administration (SBA).


The session inluded a panel featuring small business lenders who highlighted what they look for when evaluating a loan application, their typical loan terms, and the documents needed to apply. Before and after the panel, was held in-person at Pace University’s downtown campus, attendees had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with lenders to assess the source of capital that is best suited for your business needs.

Small Business Financing Resources

The Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) was pleased to partner with New York City Council Member Carlina Rivera to host a Small Business Financing & Marketing resources webinar. The session was led by Pace SBDC Regional Director Andrew Flamm.

The webinar provided an overview of a range of funding options for both existing small business owners as well as aspiring entrepreneurs, including small business loans and crowdfunding options.


The Pace University SBDC is part of the New York SBDC network, a small business assistance organization facilitated by state and federal partnerships, and funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
