The Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is excited to announce that the center has been designated as the 2025 SBDC of Excellence & Innovation from the U.S. Small Business Administration (NY district) as part of National Small Business Week. The award recognizes SBDCs for excellence in providing value to small businesses from diverse backgrounds and advancing program delivery and management through innovation, and for their impact on local economic development, job creation, and support of small business growth.

Based out of Pace University’s Lower Manhattan campus and as part of its Lubin School of Business, the Pace University SBDC provides in-depth and confidential one-on-one business advisement, training, and research to help small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs grow or launch their business venture. All Pace SBDC services are offered at no cost to its clients through funding support by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the State of New York, and Pace University.

In the past year, the Pace SBDC team provided one-to-one business counseling to nearly 1,500 small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs, helping them generate more than $12 million in economic impact and create or retain over 2,400 jobs. Further, the New York State SBDC network tapped the Pace SBDC to expand the center’s service area to include Brooklyn and now provides in-person counseling sessions from six Brooklyn locations in partnership with local business groups, elected officials and the Brooklyn Public Library.

Pace SBDC Regional Director Andrew Flamm said “We greatly appreciate the 2025 SBDC of Excellence & Innovation award as a resource partner helping our Brooklyn and Downtown Manhattan small business clients grow, and to generate jobs and economic impact in their communities. And the Pace SBDC team looks forward to continuing to expand the impact of our center’s high-impact counseling services and training programming in access to financing, marketing and sales strategies, government procurement, business planning and more.”

The Pace SBDC is part of a statewide network of 20 centers, and combines the resources of Pace University, and the public and private sectors to enable small businesses to reach their full potential. Go to the Press Release to learn more.
