MWBE & Small Business Contractor Training Program

May 15, 2017

The Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has again partnered with Turner Construction to offer the MWBE & Small Business Contractor Training Program. The program focus is on building the capacity of MWBE firms and other small business in the construction or related (eg. architecture, engineering) fields, and includes topics such as insurance & bonding, responding to an RFP, estimating, bidding and procurement. This free workshop series kicked off on May 9th, and meets every Tuesday and Thursday night for a total of seven weeks.

The first week captivated the entrepreneurs with a plethora of information, with sessions led by experts in their respective field. Session 1 introduced best practices to follow in construction management while Session 2 delved into the risks and considerations involved in insurance and bonding. We’re excited to see the participating small businesses apply what they learn through the program and improve their business operations.

Whether you’re the owner of a successful business operation looking to do business with the government or you’re looking to launch your startup idea, the Pace SBDC’s in-depth and confidential one-on-one business advisement, training and research can help you achieve your business goals and dreams. Call us at (212) 618-6655 or email us at sbdc@pace.edu to learn more, and to schedule an appointment at no cost to meet with one of our business advisors.
