El Centro de Soluciones para Negocios de NYC en unión con El Centro de Desarrollo para Pequeños Negocios, Pace SBDC presentan este taller para dar a conocer a la comunidad Hispana los recursos y herramientas que El Estado y la Ciudad de Nueva York ofrecen sin costo a los Pequeños Negocios.

Una de las dudas mas comunes de los emprendedores es saber qué permisos y licencias su negocio necesita para funcionar en la Ciudad y Estado de NY, en esté taller se explicará como encontrar las agencias a las que se deben dirigir pará hacer la aplicación y también cómo encontrar un asesor de la Ciudad que le haga una evaluación a su negocio para saber si cumple o no con los requerimientos gubernamentales.

The Pace SBDC partnered with the NYS Center for Disability Entrepreneurship at the Farmingdale SBDC to present "Evaluating Best Business Practices."

Prior to the webinar, the organizers inquired if anyone attending or their family members lived with a disability. They aimed to assist those interested in starting their own business.

The webinar, which lasted one hour, covered the necessary steps to initiate and expand a business. It provided insights into various business formations, tax and legal obligations, methods of record-keeping, and employer responsibilities.

The City Bar Justice Center’s Neighborhood Entrepreneur Law Project (NELP) partnered with the Pace SBDC and the Brooklyn Public Library’s Business & Career Center to offer a virtual small business legal clinic. This clinic, conducted by NELP, was an opportunity for entrepreneurs to meet with a team of pro bono attorneys to discuss legal issues related to their small businesses, such as intellectual property rights, contracts/agreements, business structure and incorporation, commercial leasing and more. NELP's small business legal clinics provide entrepreneurs with free legal advice during a 45-minute consultation.

The BPL Business & Career Center partnered with the City Bar Justice Center’s Neighborhood Entrepreneur Law Project (NELP) and PACE Universirty SBDC to offer an opportunity for entrepreneurs to learn about important contract provisions. This virtual presentation helped small business owners understand the importance of executing contracts.

​​The Pace University SBDC and representatives from the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development hosted a webinar on the Summer Youth Employment Program. It was an opportunity to have young people work in your business for six weeks during the summer with their HR needs and wages covered by the city. The info session covered the basics of the program, how to apply, and other key details. There was time for questions.

In the webinar hosted by the Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Margaret Kim, Adjunct Professor at Pace University's Lubin School of Business, kept things simple and doable, and covered the top five tips for effective customer engagement.

• Tax filing obligations of self-employed individuals and small business owners

• Best practices for tax filing

• Taxable income, credits, and deductions

• Effective recordkeeping skills

• Benefits of filing taxes to achieve financial goals

The Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) partnered with the NY State Society of CPAs to host a live session for small business owners.

Attendees learnt about key tax and accounting policies and best practices your technology business should consider as you build and grow.

Presented in partnership with the Neighborhood Entrepreneur Law Project and the Pace Small Business Development Center, this presentation tool small business owners through the basics of

• why cybersecurity is important;

• high-level cybersecurity and privacy obligations a business owner might have;

• steps business owners can take to help protect their business and their customers; and

• what to do in the case of a cybersecurity incident.
